GAIL India, the Indian central public sector undertaking connected Northeast India with the National Gas Grid with the completion of the final phase of the Jagdishpur-Haldia and Bokaro-Dhamra Pipeline.

The PSU has successfully connected India's North-Eastern states to the National Gas Grid for the first time with the ambitious "Pradhanmantri Urja Ganga" pipeline project.

Implemented with an investment of Rs. 4,000 crore, this prestigious pipeline will ensure clean and eco-friendly fuel for the industrial, commercial, domestic, and transport sectors.

Urja Ganga: A major gas pipeline project to improve lives in eastern India

The Urja Ganga gas pipeline project, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016, is a major infrastructure project that will bring clean and affordable natural gas to millions of households and businesses in eastern India. The project, also known as the Jagdishpur-Haldia Bokaro-Dhamra Natural Gas Pipeline (JHBDPL) project, is estimated to be 2,540 kilometers long and is currently under construction.
