GAIL Connected Northeast India with National Gas Grid
The PSU has successfully connected India's North-Eastern states to the National Gas Grid for the first time with the ambitious "Pradhanmantri Urja Ganga" pipeline project.
GAIL India, the Indian central public sector undertaking connected Northeast India with the National Gas Grid with the completion of the final phase of the Jagdishpur-Haldia and Bokaro-Dhamra Pipeline.

The Urja Ganga gas pipeline project, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016, is a major infrastructure project that will bring clean and affordable natural gas to millions of households and businesses in eastern India. The project, also known as the Jagdishpur-Haldia Bokaro-Dhamra Natural Gas Pipeline (JHBDPL) project, is estimated to be 2,540 kilometers long and is currently under construction.
The Urja Ganga project has the potential to transform the lives of millions of people in eastern India. Natural gas is a clean and efficient fuel that can be used for cooking, heating, and power generation.
