HEC Initiated a Common Engineering Facility Center

Ranchi:  A Common Engineering Facility Centre (CEFC) has been initiated by Heavy Engineering Corporation under the aegis of 'CEFC Pratham Foundation' founded under the scheme of 'Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector', of the Department of Heavy Industry, Government of India.
 
CEFC Pratham Foundation has been created to play a vital role in training and development of skilled manpower to address the skill gap in the Capital Goods Sector for manufacturing of critical components and equipment for heavy engineering industries, such as defence, nuclear, power, steel, aerospace etc.
 
HEC has tied up with CNIITMASH, which is the State Research Centre of Russian Federation to design and conduct advanced short term technical training programmes in the areas of Steel Technologies, Welding Technology, Gear Technology and Non-destructive Testing for experienced and fresh Engineers.
 
Scientists and experts from CNIITMASH have designed the above-specialized courses suiting to the Indian Industries and its environment and the same have been vetted by both premier Institutes like IIT-Kharagpur and NIFFT-Ranchi. Experts from CNIITMASH would be the lead trainers till the time the indigenous faculties are developed.
 
CEFC Pratham Foundation launched its 3rdnd training course on Steel Melting and Secondary Refining on 4th October at HQR Building, HEC Ltd, Ranchi. Engineers from various organizations such as  BHEL, Alloy Steel Plant, SAIL-CET, SAIL-RDCIS, MECON, MIDHANI, HEC and CEFC Pratham Foundation are participating in this 1 ½ week course.
 
Shri Avijit Ghosh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, HEC Ltd., while inaugurating the training course, touched upon the salient features of CEFC and highlighted the benefits this course can provide to the participants and the organizations they represented. He also appreciated the fact that participants from different organizations provided a rich blend of experience to the learning environment of the training course. Shri M K Saxena, Director (Personnel) and Mr. V Lurya, Faculty, CNIITMASH were also present during the Inaugural session.
 
This course will conclude on the 13th of October’2018.
