Himachal Governor awards winners of SJVN’s State Level Painting Competition
SJVN has introduced 10 additional consolation prizes in the State Level Painting Competition (second phase) this year.

Shimla: Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh Sh. Shiv Pratap Shukla presided as Chief Guest of the State Level Painting Competition organized by SJVN Limited for the students of the schools in Himachal Pradesh. Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN, along with Ms. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel) and senior officers warmly welcomed the Hon’ble Governor on his arrival at SJVN Corporate Headquarters, Shimla.
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma during his welcome address, highlighted that SJVN, as the Nodal agency for Himachal Pradesh under the National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation, has effectively partnered with the Ministry of Power, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, State Government, State Education Department, and other entities to ensure the success of this campaign. Since 2005, over 20 lakh students have participated in the School Level Painting Competition (first phase).
This year, 1,57,500 students of 2,852 schools from 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh participated at school level painting competition organized by SJVN. In recognition of this overwhelming participation, SJVN has introduced 10 additional consolation prizes in the State Level Painting Competition (second phase) this year.

Shiv Pratap Shukla, presented First, Second and Third Prizes of Rs 50,000/-, Rs 30,000/- and Rs. 20,000/- respectively for Group A (Class 5th, 6th & 7th ) and Group B (Class 8th, 9th & 10th). He also presented 10 Consolation Prizes of Rs 7,500/- and 10 additional Consolation Prizes of Rs 5,000/- for each category. He commended the collective endeavors of students, teachers, parents, and SJVN in promoting awareness for energy conservation. He extended congratulations to the students for their outstanding artistic talent and the eloquent expression of the theme in their paintings. All participants were given mementoes and participation amount of Rs 2000/- each as a token of appreciation for their contribution to advancing the cause of energy conservation.
In the third and final phase of the competition, the top three winners from both categories of the State Level Painting Competition have advanced to the National Level Painting Competition. The First Prize for the National Competition is Rs. 1,00,000 each for both categories, while the Second and Third Prizes are Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 30,000 respectively for each category.
Additionally, there will be ten Consolation Prizes of Rs. 15,000 each for both groups. The competition is organized under the aegis of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India.

Shiv Pratap Shukla, also inaugurated/flagged off three new Mobile Medical Units (MMU). The MMU is a Mobile Health Van which is manned by a qualified medical team comprising of a Doctor, Pharmacist and allied staff. It is also equipped with basic diagnostic test equipment and the medical consultation & medicines are provided free of cost. As part of SJVN's Corporate Social Responsibility initiative ‘Satluj Sanjeevani Sewa’, these MMUs will provide medical services to public living around project areas of Luhri Stage-1 Hydro Project in Himachal Pradesh, Parasan & Gurah Solar Projects in Uttar Pradesh, and Sadla Wind Station & Bagodra Solar Project in Gujarat through M/s Pirmal Swashtay.
SJVN has launched free doorstep medical care through MMUs in the year 2012 and currently, 13 MMUs are operating in various projects in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar and Maharashtra. This health program has already benefited more than 12 lakh patients.
