India's First Vertical lift bridge work reaches 84%, expected to complete in December
The track laying work on the bridge is in progress and fabrication of the vertical lift span girder is nearing completion, said Railways.
New Delhi: India's First ever vertical sea bridge, Pamban Bridge which is being developed by the Railways Vikas Nigam Limited has been lifted up the work.
The work on much-awaited India's first vertical lift sea bridge - New Pamban bridge - connecting the holy Rameswaram in Pamban island to mainland India has been completed by around 84 percent, said Indian railways on Thursday.
The track laying work on the bridge is in progress and fabrication of the vertical lift span girder is nearing completion, said Railways.
“Assembling platform for the vertical lift span on the Rameswaram end of the bridge is getting ready,” it added.
