Joydeep Dasgupta appointed as Director (Production) NMDC

The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has selected Joydeep Dasgupta for the post of Director (Production), at NMDC Limited; a Schedule ‘A’ Central PSU. A total of 12 people were interviewed. His recommendation is subject to the outcome of the case filed in the High Court of Karnataka.

Currently, Dasgupta is posted as Executive Director (Mines), Jharkhand Group of Mines, BSL, SAIL, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).

Subject to requisite clearances and ACC approval, Dasgupta will be appointed as Director (Production), NMDC. The post of Director (Production) is lying vacant.

Earlier, the selection meeting was held on 05.06.2024. In compliance with the interim judgment dated 04.06.2024 of the High Court of Karnataka, Satyender Rai, Executive Director of NMDC, was not allowed to appear at the selection meeting. As a result, the finalization of the result by the PESB did not take place.

Further, in compliance of the modified interim order dated 05.07.2024 of the High Court in this Writ Petition, Rai was called for Selection Meeting scheduled on 13.08.2024 at 10.30 AM. The performance of the candidates including Satyender Rai was assessed.
