The Govt of Andhra Pradesh has appointed K Vijayanand (IAS: 1992: AP), Special Chief Secretary, Energy Department, as the new Chief Secretary of the state. He will succeed Neerabh Kumar Prasad (IAS: 1987: AP) who is retiring on 31.12.2024. Vijayanand had held several key positions in the state including Chairman of AP TRANSCO and APGENCO.

Besides his contributions in the energy sector, Vijayanand also served as Principal Secretary, of the IT and Electronics department from 2016 to 2019 and played a key role in attracting IT companies in the state.
