MOIL gets monetary penalty of Rs 17 Crore for Excess Production at Tirodi Mine
State-owned MOIL on Wednesday states that the company faced a penalty of Rs 16.77 crore by the collector of Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. This penalty is due to excess production at its Tirodi mine, which occurred beyond the limits of its environmental clearance during the periods of 1993-94 to 1995-96 and 2006-07 to 2008-09.

MOIL, a Miniratna state-owned manganese ore mining company, is headquartered in Nagpur. Currently, the company operates both underground and opencast mines in the Nagpur and Bhandara districts of Maharashtra, as well as in the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. MOIL produces and sells various grades of manganese ore.
