In its filing with the BSE, the company stated that it plans to appeal the order before the appellate authority. MOIL reassured that this penalty will not affect its ongoing operations or activities.

State-owned MOIL on Wednesday states that the company faced a penalty of Rs 16.77 crore by the collector of Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. This penalty is due to excess production at its Tirodi mine, which occurred beyond the limits of its environmental clearance during the periods of 1993-94 to 1995-96 and 2006-07 to 2008-09.

In its filing with the BSE, the company stated that it plans to appeal the order before the appellate authority. MOIL reassured that this penalty will not affect its ongoing operations or activities.
