NHPC Subansiri commences Access Plugging between upper horizontal pressure shafts

The plugging of Access Adit-4 between eight upper horizontal pressure shafts has commenced at NHPC's 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project. This event took place during a visit from statutory auditors and was attended by Shri R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance) of NHPC, Shri Anuj Kapoor, Executive Director (Finance), and other senior officers.

The Director (Finance) congratulated the NHPC Subansiri team, led by Shri Rajendra Prasad (Executive Director/Head of Project) and the executing agency, M/s Patel Engineering Ltd.

Additionally, two other access adits have already been successfully plugged: the Access Adit connecting eight lower horizontal pressure shafts and Access Adit-2, which connects the eight-head race tunnels, both completed by December 2024. The successful concrete plugging of Adit-4 will help ensure the timely completion and commissioning of the project as planned.
