Theme of this year’s International Yoga Day is “Yoga For Humanity”.
NLC India Limited observed International Day of Yoga
New Delhi: NLC India Limited joined the Nation in observing the International Day of Yoga in a grand manner with a mass demonstration of Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) Yoga practice at Bharathi Stadium, Neyveli, on 21st June 2022 at 6:45 AM. Theme of this year’s International Yoga Day is “Yoga For Humanity”.
Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD/NLC India limited led the Yoga Day celebrations by participating in the CYP along with dignitaries, invitees and 500 students from Neyveli Schools by performing Yoga with Flexibility exercises, simple asanas, pranayama and simple meditation.
Functional Directors Shri Shaji John, Director (Power); Shri Jaikumar Srinivasan, Director(Finance); Shri K.Mohan Reddy, Director(P&P); Shri L.Chandrasekar, Chief Vigilance Officer; Senior Executives, Representatives from Recognised Unions & Associations and Welfare associations of NLC India Limited, WIPS and NLCIL employees performed the Yoga with the students.
Members / representatives of Yoga organisations from Isha Yoga, Arivu Thirukovil, Art of Living, Bramakumaris along with NLCIL Ayurveda Centre also participated in the programme. 500 school students drawn from 12 schools at Neyveli participated.
During the function held at the Bharathi Stadium, Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD, speaking on the occasion, informed that the Education department of NLCIL had conducted a year-long yoga training programme for 4000 students from NLCIL Schools. He also highlighted the various programmes conducted by NLCIL such as Two months yoga training for women at their locality, a Yoga training programme for WIPS, Yoga training for rural schools, Yoga training programme for teachers, Nadha Yoga for Doctors etc during the one year period. NLCIL has also drawn up plans to conduct yoga programmes for the employees throughout the year.
Shri N.Sadish Babu, Executive Director (HR) welcomed the gathering while Shri R.Nagarajan, DGM/Education, Sports& Culture proposed the Vote of Thanks. Smt. K.Selvanayagi, Yoga teacher, NLCIL Yoga Centre, Block-10 conducted the Mass Yoga demonstration.
