NRDC signs MoU for transfer of technology

New Delhi: National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), an enterprise under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for transfer of technology, “A Process for Manufacturing of Graphene from Waste Plastic”, developed at Kumaun University Nainital.
 
The MoU was signed amongst NRDC New Delhi, Kumaun University, Nainital, Hexorp Industries Private Limited Nainital and G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment & Sustainable Development for NMHS-PMU Almora at Kumaun University.
 
The MoU was signed by Chairman and Managing Director, NRDC Dr. H. Purushotham, Dr. N. G. Shahoo, Professor, Kumaun University, Shri Kireet Kumar, Nodal Officer, NHMS and Shri Akshat Shah, MD Hexorp Industries Private Limited for transfer of technology.
 
Kumaun University has successfully developed the technology for converting waste plastic into Graphene and value-added fuel.  The technology is based on pyrolytic process in presence of sophisticated organically modified nano-clays which leads to the formation of value added products such as carbon nano materials, petrol, diesel and kerosene oil.
