NRL signed Agreement with Matheson Tri-Gas Inc., USA
This partnership will also see a substantial foreign investment in the Northeast by Matheson, amounting to nearly Rs. 1,600 Cr.
New Delhi: Numaligarh Refinery Limited and Matheson Tri-Gas Inc., USA signed an agreement for the implementation of the 95KTPA Hydrogen Generation Unit on 22 February 2023, as a part of the ongoing Numaligarh Refinery Expansion Project.
The agreement was signed at NRL Centre, Guwahati in the presence of the Managing Director of NRL, Shri Bhaskar Jyoti Phukon, Director (Finance) of NRL, Shri Indranil Mittra, the Senior Vice President of Matheson, Shri Raghu K. Menon and other senior officials of NRL and Matheson.
The signing of the agreement will facilitate the implementation of a world-class unit to produce syngas and hydrogen at Numaligarh, Assam. This historic agreement was awarded on a “job work” basis, which is an emerging concept in India, making NRL one of the leaders in implementing such a model in the country.
This partnership will also see a substantial foreign investment in the Northeast by Matheson, amounting to nearly Rs. 1,600 Crores, and is expected to create employment opportunities within the region both during the construction as well as operational phases. Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Director of NRL, Shri Bhaskar Jyoti Phukon acknowledged the potential for the development of the region, as a result, of the establishment of this unit. He also congratulated Matheson for being successful in the bidding process and thanked them for their committed investment in the project.
