NTPC celebrates its 49th Raising Day with enthusiasm and gaiety
New Delhi: NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters, Ranchi, celebrated the 49th NTPC Raising Day with great enthusiasm and gaiety. Chief Guest for the occasion, Shri T K Konar, General Manager(Technical Services), unfurled the NTPC flag in august presence of HODs, employees and awardees. On the occasion, Shri Konar congratulated the employees for completing 48 years of NTPC journey in power generation.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Konar said that we feel proud to be a part of India’s largest energy conglomerate, which has played a critical role in catering to the energy needs of a growth-oriented country like India.

NTPC Coal stations achieved a Plant Load Factor(PLF) of 75.90% as against the National Average of 64.21% during FY23.
Speaking on NTPC Coal Mining Shri Konar said that a substantial growth of 86% in coal production from its captive mines till 31st Oct in FY 2023-24 was registered, as compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. The company achieved an impressive coal production of 19.117 million metric tonnes (MMT) till Oct FY24, as compared to 10.282 MMT in the same period of the previous year.
In addition, NTPC has also achieved a coal despatch of 20.225 MMT till 31st Oct in FY 2023-24, marking a significant 94% increase over the previous year for the same period. This outstanding performance reflects NTPC's relentless commitment to enhancing coal production from its captive mines and ensuring efficient supply to meet the nation's energy needs.
Shri Konar expressed his gratitude to the management for their support and congratulated the entire coal mining team for this feat.
He further added NTPC has incorporated its 100% wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC Mining Limited (NML) for developing the focussed mining competency by creating a dedicated business.

He thanked the coal mining team for ensuring continuous and premium quality coal supply to the power plants of NTPC. On the occasion to celebrate the special day, winners of various competitions like Vigilance Week and Hindi Pakhwada were felicitated.
