NTPC floats tender to acquire 1 GW solar projects
New Delhi: NTPC has floated a tender to acquire 1 GW operational solar projects, which entails an investment of around Rs 5,000 crore. In a tender or request for proposal (RFP) issued on Friday, NTPC has invited bids from the promoters or lenders, authorised financial intermediaries of power generation companies, independent power producers or developers for offering operational solar based assets located in India.
Interested bidders are expected to submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ?10 million (~$133,576). The last date for the submission of the bids is September 22, 2020.
Promoters, lenders, authorized financial intermediaries of power generation companies, independent power producers, and developers can participate in this tender.
NTPC sets out to acquire solar projects not running on Chinese equipment The NTPC's acquisition plan is expected to be lapped up by several solar power generators looking to exit the sector after facing regulatory hurdles and difficulties in pricing power on renewed terms that some states are now pushing.
