NTPC Ramagundam extends support to Govt. schools under CSR initiative

NTPC Ramagundam, under its CSR initiative, extends support to government schools by providing them with necessary resources and infrastructure to improve the quality of education.

NEW DELHI- NTPC Ramagundam under its CSR-CD presented 240 desk-cum-benches in 17 government schools of nearby areas covering more than 2500 students on 3rd April (Monday) at Employee Development Centre, NTPC Ramagundam. 

500 desk-cum-benches have been procured from District Prison, Karimnagar, and shall be distributed phase-wise. 

Addressing the gathering, Shri Sunil Kumar Executive Director, NTPC (Ramagundam & Telangana) motivated the students to take education seriously as it would allow them to support the development of society.

This initiative is intended towards extending infrastructural support to nearby government schools that would further enhance the learning experiences of the students.

He further highlighted the idea to encourage products made by prison inmates as it can be a source of livelihood for them on release.

NTPC Ramagundam is a thermal power plant located in Ramagundam, a town in the Indian state of Telangana. It is one of the largest thermal power stations in South India with an installed capacity of 2,600 MW. The power plant comprises of 3 units of 200 MW capacity and 4 units of 500 MW capacity.

NTPC Ramagundam is operated by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), a Government of India undertaking. The plant primarily uses coal as fuel to generate electricity, although it also has the capacity to use natural gas as a backup fuel source. 

The power generated by NTPC Ramagundam is supplied to the southern states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Pondicherry.
