OIL and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology signed MoU

New Delhi: Oil India Limited and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Jais, singed an MoU today for Industry-Academia partnership between the two institutions. 

The MoU was signed by Shri S C Mishra, CMD, OIL & Prof. A S K Sinha, Director, RGIPT in the presence of Functional Directors, OIL, and Faculty members from RGIPT.

About Oil India Limited 
OIL, a wholly-owned Government of India enterprise is a premier Indian National Oil Company engaged in the business of exploration, development, and production of crude oil and natural gas, transportation of crude oil, and production of LPG. OIL also provides various E&P related services and holds 26% equity in Numaligarh Refinery Limited. OIL was adjudged as one of the five best major PSUs and one of the three best energy sector PSUs in the country.

About Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology 
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), Government of India, set up the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology at Jais, Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, by the Act of the Parliament. The Institute has been accorded the eminence of being an Institution of National Importance along the lines of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The Institute is empowered to award degrees in its own right. The Institute is co-promoted as an energy domain specific institute by six leading oil public sector units (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Oil India Limited, Gail (India) Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) in association with the Oil Industry Development Board. The Institute is associating with leading International Universities/Institutions specializing in the domain of Petroleum Technology and Energy.
