Petroleum Minister reviewed meet on Hydrocarbon Vision with oil companies

Out of the total Rs 1.30 lakh crore investment envisaged in NER under the Hydrocarbon Vision 2030, projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore have already been approved & are under various stages of implementation.

Duliajan: Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra pradhan together with senior officials of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, DGH INDIA and captains of oil and gas companies Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., GAIL (India) Limited, ONGC Limited, Numaligarh Refinery Limited, and Oil India Limited conducted a comprehensive review meeting on Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for north-east India in Duliajan. 

Shri Pradhan evaluated the progress of oil and gas companies in leveraging the hydrocarbon sector for the development of the north-east region and making hydrocarbons a tool to enable accelerated socio-economic development and facilitating ease-of-living. Discussed the support required in harnessing the full potential of hydrocarbons in the region, enhancing access to clean fuel for 100% of households, improving availability of petroleum products & linking the common people to employment & economic activities in this sector. 

He also strategised on ways to make a quantum jump in domestic oil & gas production, reducing import bills, infrastructure investment, and tapping new technologies in E&P to catalyze growth in the north-east region for creating a sustainable and secure energy future. 

Shri Pradhan said, "I encouraged the officials to make collaborative efforts in charting out a detailed roadmap for the entire hydrocarbon value chain covering the upstream, downstream, and midstream segments to help achieve the objectives of Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for the north-east. Also, suggested our oil companies ensure 100% penetration of LPG in NER, expand footprints of CBG and alternative energy in a big way and make coordinated efforts to come up with a collaborative model in the area of petrochemicals to create more value and opportunities."
