PM Narendra Modi unveils foundation stone for multiple projects of railways in Mumbai

In a significant effort to enhance connectivity and infrastructure, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated several key railway projects in Mumbai. These projects include the Kalyan Yard Remodeling, Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal at Navi Mumbai, new platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, and extended platforms at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Station.

PM laid the foundation stone for Kalyan Yard Remodelling and Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal at Turbhe in Navi Mumbai. Kalyan Yard will help in the segregation of long-distance and suburban traffic.

The Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal in Navi Mumbai will be built in an area of more than 32600 sq mt.

Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone and dedicated multiple projects related to the road, railways and ports sector in Mumbai, Maharashtra, worth over Rs 29,400 crores.

The projects include the Kalyan Yard Remodelling, Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal at Navi Mumbai, new platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, and the extension of platforms 10 and 11 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Station. These developments aim to enhance the region’s transportation infrastructure, boost cargo handling capabilities, and improve passenger amenities, significantly contributing to Mumbai’s economic growth and connectivity.

The completion of the Kalyan Yard Remodelling and Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal projects represents a significant advancement in Mumbai's railway infrastructure. Furthermore, the expansion of platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus will enable the accommodation of longer trains, thereby increasing passenger capacity and elevating the overall travel experience.
