Gurugram: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, the Maharatna CPSU under the aegis of the Ministry of Power, handed over a project-specific SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle), Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission Limited, to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited on 30 December 2024 at Gurugram.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator, for the development of the transmission project on a Build, Own, Operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.

The transmission scheme is planned for the evacuation of 3.5 GW of RE power from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone, which covers the establishment of 765/400 kV, 2 X1500 MVA S/s near Ghiror (Uttar Pradesh), Augmentation of Barmer -I Pooling Station, 283.05 Kms of 765 kV line and 43.28 Kms of 400 kV line along with associated works. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 5378.03 Crores

Shri T.S.C. Bosh, CEO of RECPDCL, handed over the SPV to Shri Satyaprakash Dash, Company Secretary of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, in the presence of Senior Officials of RECPDCL, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited. The project is targeted for implementation in 24 months.
