SCI observes Swachhta Pakhwada
New Delhi: SCI is dedicated to support the Government of India's mission for Swachh Bharat and has been contributing its resources and efforts for realizing the dream of Clean India, and in continuance of same, “Swachhta hi Sewa” Abhiyan is being observed from 16th September 2019 to 02nd October 2019.
As part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiatives of Government of India, Swachhta Pakhwada 2019 is being observed in Shipping Corporation of India and its branch offices and MTI, Powai from 16th September 2019 to 02nd October 2019. SCI Directors inaugurated the Pakhwada on 16th September 2019, by administering the “Swachhta Pledge” in Marathi, Hindi and English to all the employees, contract workers, and associated personnel assembled at head office respectively. Also pledge was administered at branch offices at Chennai, Kolkata, Various vessels and Maritime Training Institute, Powai.
In line with “Digital India” initiatives for the first time in SCI, pledge was administered paperless using electronic media/devices. Wide coverage for spreading awareness was done on SCI website and SCI employee portals. During the Pakhwada, SCI employees also performed “Shramdaan” on 21st September 2019 on Vidhan Bhavan Road wherein the C&MD, Directors and over 160 employees participated. Various competitions such as slogan writing, poster making and cleanliness drive on board vessels and awareness campaign are also being conducted during the period. Culmination of Swachhta Abhiyan will be on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, 02nd October 2019.
