Shri Dharmendra Pradhan joined the 2021 global energy agenda session
New Delhi: Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Joined the discussions on “Setting the 2021 global energy agenda” with my esteemed friends Dr. Fatih Birol, Dr. Daniel Yergin, HE Mr. Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, and Ms. Mary Nichols on Jan 19, 2021, at the Atlantic Council virtual ACEnergyForum.
He spoke about demand revival trends in the post-pandemic era, geopolitics and its influence on oil supply, the importance of persisting with consumption-led energy recovery, and balancing production cuts for more stable oil markets as well as for buoyant global economic recovery. Stressed on the need for reasonable pricing, which is both in the interests of producers and consumers. Production cuts may not be the most optimal way to encourage global economic recovery.
Shri Pradhan mentioned "I also elaborated on the robust trends in India’s economic recovery, bright spots across sectors and on the efforts taken under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji to ensure recovery at a better-than-expected pace. The discussions also veered around our multi-pronged approach to the energy transition, game-changing initiatives being taken to harness the full potential of biofuels, including CBG, digital innovations across energy systems, and efforts towards becoming a gas-based economy."
