New Delhi: The internationally acclaimed, Dalal Street Investment Journal (DSIJ) has conferred the PSU Award of the Year 2021 to Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN. This award has been conferred in recognition of the outstanding contribution made by Sh. Sharma to make SJVN the most efficient & profitable Mini Ratna Company of the year 2021.
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma is heading SJVN Limited as Chairman & Managing Director, a Schedule A, Mini Ratna Public Sector Enterprise. Sh. Sharma has re-engineered, the existing Business Model of the organization, starting from a single project in a single state organization at its inception, to currently having a total portfolio of around 31500 MW and more than 50 projects under various stages of development. Under the dynamic leadership of Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, SJVN is on the exponential growth of harnessing various sources of energy, having a Shared Vision of 5000 MW by 2023, 25000 MW by 2030 & 50000 MW installed capacity by 2040.
Under his visionary leadership, SJVN plans to invest Rs 75000 crores in next five years and Rs 1.8 lakh crores in next ten years, which would significantly contribute to kick start the Growth Engine of the country and enable employment generation, infrastructure development and overall socio-economic growth.
SJVN started with a Single Hydro Project of 1500 MW in 1988. Today, the company has presence in eight states in India and in neighboring countries of Nepal & Bhutan. SJVN now holds a diversified portfolio of Hydro, Thermal, Wind and Solar Power Projects, Power Transmission and Power Trading. The company has recently formed a subsidiary company SJVN Green Energy Limited for developing renewable energy projects.
