Swachh Bharat Mission organized at Braithwate and Company Limited

New Delhi: Swachh Bharat Mission the Nation-wide mass movement was initiated in 2014 by the Government of India to realize Gandhiji’s dream of a Clean India by the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in 2019.
In this context, and in pursuance of Swachh Bharat Mission, Intensive Cleanliness Campaign was undertaken in Braithwaite & Co. Limited. which began on 16th September 2019 this year observing ‘Swachta Pakhwara’ in Braithwaite & Co. Ltd in all the Units and culminated on 02nd October 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
 
Special drive was undertaken on 02nd October 2019 wherein more than 500 employees from all sections and categories participated to achieve total sanitation and cleanliness. Leading from the front Shri Yatish Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director initiated the drive from Company’s Victoria Works at 10.00AM. Thereafter, BCL’s employees marched from Victoria Works to Clive Works on Hide Road while cleaning the garbage on the road and also displaying banners & pamphlets to raise awareness of people on SWACHHTA. At Clive Works, Plantations were made in front of the Company by Shri Yatish Kumar, CMD, Shri P.P.Bose, Director (Finance) and Shri Salim G. Purushothaman, Director (Production). Thereafter, intensive cleaning of the Work area of different Bays in Factory was undertaken wherein employees from all Sections overwhelmingly participated. Plantations were also done inside factory premises by Shri Yatish Kumar, CMD, Shri Salim G. Purushothaman, Director (Production) and other Senior Officers namely Shri Anil Kumar Shahi, Works Manager (I/C)-CW/VW, Shri Debasis De, DGM(F,CA & V), Shri P.K.Mishra, DGM(HR, Admn, Sec), Shri P.P.Dutta, SR.Manager (Projects) and Ms. Baishakee Maitra, Asst. Company Secretary. Efforts were made to make the premises plastic free. Similar campaign on Cleanliness was also taken up at Angus Works where Shri Siddhartha Mitra, General Manager-Angus Works took the lead. All employees participated in cleaning the Works and Office premises. Such campaign on cleanliness would continue in all the Units of the Company.
 
On the occasion, Shri Yatish Kumar, CMD advised that SWACHHTA (Cleanliness Drive) should be part of work-culture and must be done continuously to achieve the goals. He thanked all the employees for their whole-hearted participation in the Cleanliness drive.
