WCL commences Vigilance awareness week

New Delhi: Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 commenced at Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) today with the Citizen-Integrity Pledge. In the Vigilance Awareness Week program organized at WCL Headquarters, Chief Guest Shri Manoj Kumar, CMD, WCL administered the Civic-Integrity Oath to the employees.

On this occasion, Director (Technical and Personnel) Shri J. P. Dwivedi, Director Technical (Planning and Project) Shri A. K. Singh and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre had a prominent presence.

Presenting the welcome address, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre explained in detail the various programs organized on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023. He said that integrity, transparency, and honesty are the basic principles of WCO and to strengthen them, the Vigilance Department is continuously working.

He said that as per the instructions of the Central Vigilance Commission, a 3-month special vigilance campaign is being run in WCL from August 16 to November 15, 2023, under which work is being done on awareness regarding public interest disclosure and security resolution of informants, capacity building, systemic reforms, etc. are staying.

He said that by maintaining transparency and honesty in the daily work of the company, we not only complete the work as per the rules but also fulfill our responsibility towards the nation. He called upon everyone to do their work consciously, adopting the principles of preventive vigilance.

On this occasion, the guests inaugurated a stall focused on the 'Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informants Pledge (PIDPI)' and released a compilation related to the same topic.

The message received for the special occasion was read by Honorable President Smt. Draupadi Murmu, Honorable Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Central Vigilance Commission General Managers Shri Deepak Revatkar, MK Baluka and S. Of. Batra did it.

The program was conducted and the vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Anupama Tembhurnikar, Senior Manager (Personnel). Department heads, senior officers, and employees were present in large numbers at the ceremony. Team Wekoli members from all walks of life also joined the event in large numbers through live broadcasts on YouTube.

It is noteworthy that various programs and activities will be organized throughout the week in the company headquarters and areas.
