New Delhi: Shri. Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India distributed artificial limbs, aids and other assistive devices to 184 Divyangs (differently-abled people) as part of a CSR initiative of Western Coalfields Ltd. Shri. Manoj Kumar, CMD, WCL and senior management of WCL were present on the occasion.
Hand-powered tricycles, wheelchairs, motorised tricycles, crutches, prostheses, braille cans, digital hearing aids, cerebral palsy chairs and multi-sensory inclusive educational kits were distributed on the occasion.
Hon'ble Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari said that the service of the Divyang people is the service of God. He said that with the help of artificial limbs and assistive devices, Divyangjan can not only lead a normal life but can also achieve extraordinary success in many fields.
Appreciating the distribution work of artificial limbs and assistive devices under the CSR head of WCL, Shri Gadkari said that the life of the differently-abled people who were provided these last year has become completely normal. He was speaking as the chief guest at the distribution camp of artificial limbs and other assistive devices to the differently-abled, organized by Western Coalfields Limited in the auditorium of the South Central Zone Cultural Center.
During the program, he encouraged the differently-abled people, who presented their skills and wished them good luck for their bright future.
Shri Manoj Kumar, CMD of WCL delivered the welcome address and briefed about the company's CSR activities. He said that in this camp 184 persons with disabilities have been provided with artificial limbs and other aids. These will bring some ease and ease in the daily routine of the differently-abled.
He said that WCL has provided hand-powered tricycles, wheelchairs, motorized tricycles, crutches, prostheses, braille cans for the visually impaired, smartphones and daisy players in many camps. Provided Digital Hearing Aids for the Hearing Impaired, Cerebral Palsy Chair for physically challenged and handicapped children and Multi-Sensory Inclusive Educational (MSIED) Kit for children suffering from Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome.
