BEL dedicates Advanced Mobile Diagnostic Unit to rural public of Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh
Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has dedicated an Advanced Mobile Diagnostic Unit, meant for early detection and diagnosis of various health problems affecting the rural populace, to the Government General Hospital, Machilipatnam, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh.
Mr Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, Director (Other Units), BEL, today handed over the Advanced Mobile Diagnostic Unit to the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr Pawan Kalyan, in the presence of Mr. Ramkumar B, GM (HR)/CO, and Sri Jitendra Singh, GM (BEL-Machilipatnam). Costing around Rs. 1.5 Crores, the unit is designed to carry out early detection and diagnosis of different ailments including cancer, affecting the rural masses.

The primary objective of this initiative is to improve access to quality healthcare in rural areas adjoining Machilipatnam. The air-conditioned, state-of-the-art unit will be utilized by the Govt hospital to regularly conduct cancer diagnostic tests and screening camps for the rural population.
The key facilities include a portable Ultrasound Machine, digital X-ray machine, Digital Mammography machine, Digital Video Colposcope, Haematology Analyser, ECG, and Digital Microscope. BEL remains committed to making a positive impact in the lives of people through its healthcare initiatives. Such interventions under CRS demonstrate BEL's firm resolve to contribute to a healthier society.
