Korba, Chhattisgarh: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) CMD Shri J.P. Dwivedi on Sunday visited the SECL's mega projects. On his visit, he reached Kusmunda early in the morning where he visited the departmental and outsourcing patches. He also visited the FMC Phase-III site and inspected the activities.

While taking stock of the Gevra mine operations, he discussed various points related to production and gave many instructions to make the working process excellent. He held a brief meeting with all the HoD’s of the area, in which various strategies were discussed to achieve this year’s production target. He encouraged the officers and employees and said that every target can be achieved with teamwork and dedication.

During the inspection at Dipka mine, he visited each patch and saw the mining activities. He discussed target achievement and its planning with the area core team. During the visit to the mega projects, Shri Dwivedi instructed the officers present to pay special attention to safe and efficient mining operations and motivated everyone to work with dedication to achieve the production targets of the company.

A gist of Kusmunda Coal Mine

The Kusmunda Coal Mine is an open-cast mine located in Korba, Chhattisgarh, India. Operated by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India, the mine has been operational since 1979. Kusmunda Coal Mine is one of the largest coal mines in the world, ranking 4th globally. It uses advanced mining machinery, including Surface Miners and Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMMs), to ensure eco-friendly and efficient coal extraction.
