Eastern Coalfields Limited Director Reviews Mining Operations and Expansion Plans at Mugma Area
Bhubaneswar, 27 February 2026: Shri Niladri Roy, Director (Technical–Operations) of Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), visited the Mugma Area on 27 February 2026 to assess ongoing mining operations and future developmental initiatives. The visit emphasized strengthening safety standards, improving operational efficiency, and planning for strategic growth.
During his inspection of Chapapur–II OCP (H), Shri Roy reviewed coal production and OB benches and discussed detailed expansion plans aimed at enhancing production capacity. Key infrastructural recommendations included the relocation of existing roads, offices, and residential colonies, diversion of overhead lines, and development of a new coal depot to support future expansion.
Shri Raj Kishore Singh, AGM of Mugma Area, along with the Agent of Chapapur, accompanied the Director and presented operational updates reflecting ECL’s focus on sustainable growth, efficiency, and safety in its mining operations.
