New Delhi: GAIL (India) Ltd. has successfully gone live with SAP S/4 HANA, having officially migrated to the new cloud based next generation enterprise resource planning system of SAP, With this initiative christened “Navodaya” , GAIL becomes the first Maharatna PSU to achieve this milestone.
The Go-Live was formally launched by Chairman & Managing Director Sh. Sandeep Kumar Gupta in the presence of Director (Finance) Sh. R.K. Jain, Director (Projects) Sh. Deepak Gupta, Director (HR) Sh. Ayush Gupta, Director (Marketing) Sh. Sanjay Kumar and Director (BD) Sh. Rajeev Kumar Singhal. Joining them on this landmark occasion were President & Managing Director, SAP, India Sh. Manish Prasad and other distinguished seniors from GAIL & SAP, who witnessed this significant digital milestone in GAIL’s transformation journey.
Hosted on a robust and scalable cloud platform, this strategic migration involved a full transition from the company’s legacy ECC system to the next-generation SAP S/4HANA Cloud, strengthening GAIL’s IT foundation for future growth and innovation. Despite the complexities involved, the implementation and migration has been completed within the scheduled time of one year.

With this move, GAIL is positioned to leverage intelligent technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced automation—reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence, digital innovation, and resilience in today’s dynamic business landscape. Speaking on the occasion GAIL Chairman & Managing Director Sh. The new S4 SAP Hana capabilities include Dashboards, Data Cloud , Analytics , User friendly Fiori interface, Joule interactive apps, , embedding AI and fast data processing among others. While addressing the GAIL gathering President & Managing Director, SAP India Manish Prasad expressed “SAP S/4 HANA is reimagined digital core. This landmark achievement will help GAIL grow exponentially in efficiency and journey of AI to achieve new heights
