Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) participated in the “Argus Agri Vikas Conclave 2025” held at Bhubaneswar, Odisha on May 15, 2025. This year the event, titled “Seeds of Change in Odisha”, brought together policy makers, experts and industry players to deliberate on the future of agriculture. It was attended by many farmers from Odisha including award-winning farmers.

Mr. Manish Billore, Vice President (Marketing), HURL, represented the Company in an important panel discussion on “ India@2047: Redefining Agriculture for Future Policies ”. Addressing various stakeholders across the agriculture value chain, Mr. Billore shared HURL’s vision of a food system based on ecological balance and farmer-centric innovation.

Underlining the need to adopt sustainable and organic farming, he emphasized the importance of Soil Organic Carbon (SOC), which plays a vital role in improving soil health, increasing crop productivity and mitigating the effects of climate change. "To nourish the future, we need to revitalize the soil. Increasing SOC is extremely important to revive our agro-ecosystem," he said.

Describing Odisha as a state of emerging potential for agroecology, Shri Billore said that its rich agro-climatic diversity, deep understanding of traditional farming and forward-looking government policies provide an ideal base to promote sustainable agricultural transformation.

Describing HURL's role as a catalyst in this transformation, he said, “We see ourselves not just as a producer of fertilizers but as a partner in building India's sustainable agricultural future. We are committed to empowering farmers, maintaining soil health and developing a climate-resilient food system.”

The Conclave proved to be a platform to provide direction to India's agricultural policies and goals for the year 2047 and beyond, in which HURL played an active role.
