Shri Rajendra Prasad Goyal Gets Extended Charge as Director (Finance) of SJVN Limited
New Delhi, The Ministry of Power, Government of India, has given Shri Rajendra Prasad Goyal an additional charge as Director (Finance) at SJVN Limited. This appointment is effective from July 1, 2025, and will last for two more months or until further notice. This decision follows the earlier announcement made on July 10, 2025, and complies with SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.
Shri Goyal currently serves as Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer at NHPC Limited. He also temporarily holds the position of Chairman & Managing Director at NHPC. His new role at SJVN strengthens his leadership across major public sector companies in the power sector.
With this change, the additional charge previously given to Shri Sapan Kumar Garg, Director Finance at THDC India Limited, has been withdrawn, overriding the earlier order from July 9, 2025.
A Distinguished Career in Public Sector Finance
Shri Rajendra Prasad Goyal joined NHPC in 1988 as a Senior Accountant at Salal Power Station, J&K. He has gained over 34 years of experience in finance, taxation, treasury, investor relations, and project policy across various NHPC offices and projects. Before his current position, he was Chief General Manager (Finance) at NHPC.
He has led various financial functions and holds chairs or board positions with multiple subsidiary companies, such as Jalpower Corporation Ltd., NHPC Renewable Energy Ltd., Bundelkhand Saur Urja Ltd., CVPP Ltd., Ratle Hydroelectric Corp., Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corp., and NHDC Ltd. He is also the Director (Finance) at the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) in Faridabad, and serves as a Director in Arun-3 Power Development Co. and SJVN Lower Arun Power Development Co. Pvt. Ltd.
An Associate Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Shri Goyal has a Master’s degree in Commerce from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He is well-respected for his financial skills, knowledge of regulations, and leadership in hydroelectric project development.
This extended appointment shows the government’s continued trust in Shri Goyal’s ability to manage financial strategy and governance at important energy public sector units like SJVN and NHPC.
