SJVN Ltd issues LoA to Sembcorp for 150 MW solar power project

Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, has secured a Letter of Acceptance for a 150 MW solar power project integrated with a 300 MWh Battery Energy Storage System from SJVN Ltd under a tender issued.

Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, has secured a Letter of Acceptance for a 150 MW solar power project integrated with a 300 MWh Battery Energy Storage System from SJVN Ltd under a tender issued.

SJVN Ltd has issued a tender for 1.2 GW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar projects with a total of 600 MW/2.4 GWh of battery storage capacity.

According to the notification of tender, the project will be implemented on a build-own-operate basis and is expected to commence commercial operations within 24 months from the signing of the 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

Post completion, the project will supply solar power and will support peak electricity demand for four hours daily through the BESS. The Project is subject to be sourced through a combination of internal funds and debts.

This is the second solar energy storage hybrid project of Sembcorp in India. The company's gross renewable capacity will increase to 6.3 GW with this project. The global renewable portfolio of the company now stands at 17.7 GW.
