WCL Secures Vesting Order for Dahegaon Makardhokra-IV Coal Mine

New Delhi, May 30, 2025: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has secured Dahegaon Makardhokra-IV commercial Coal Block through the E-Auction bidding process. In pursuance of the same, an MoU was signed for coal mine development and production on March 27, 2025. Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has been issued Vesting Order for the Dahegaon Makardhokra-IV coal mine by the Nominated Authority, Ministry of Coal, Government of India, on 29th May, 2025, marking a key milestone in India’s coal sector.

With 120 million tonnes (MT) of geological reserves, this fully explored coal block, secured through competitive bidding, is strategically located near WCL’s Umrer Coalfield operations. The acquisition will boost coal production, optimize resource utilization, and support India’s growing energy demands.

Upon securing the vesting order of Dahegaon, Makardhokda -IV Coal Mine, Chairman & Managing Director of WCL, Shri Jai Prakash Dwivedi, along with all Functional Directors, extended heartfelt thanks to the Hon’ble Minister of Coal Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Secretary (Coal) Shri Vikram Dev Dutt, Additional Secretary (Coal) Smt. Rupinder Brar, and all senior officials of the Ministry of Coal for their continuous guidance and motivation. Shri Dwivedi further said that their support was instrumental in helping WCL secure its first-ever commercial coal block—a historic achievement for any CIL subsidiary.
