New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has advertised the vacancy for Chairman and Managing Director of Central Electronics Limited (CEL). Currently, Shri Chetan Prakash Jain has been serving in this position since 7 April 2021. The next CMD would be appointed through an interview panel held by PESB.
The senior-most official of the Board is expected to replace the incumbent. Some of the officials who are expected to shortlist for the interview are Sarita Koul (ED, Operations and General Administration), Rajat Garg (GM, HRD), Satyam Singh (GM, BD and CC), and other higher officials of the company. This is a win-win situation for the next helm procedure as the Board is also expected to extend the tenure or re-appoint the CMD again.
In a provisional outsource, Smt Sarita Koul is likely to get this position, depending on the other factors.
Other officials from several government departments like BEL, BHEL and India Optel Ltd etc are likely to participate in the interview.
Central Electronics Limited (CEL), situated in Sahibabad, is a Schedule B Public Sector Undertaking under the administrative control of the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR) under the Ministry of Science & Technology was incorporated in 1974. The company was conferred the status of a Mini-Ratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) in the financial year 2024–25.
