DVC CELEBRATES 70th FOUNDATION DAY
Kolkata: The 70th foundation day of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), the first multipurpose river valley project of independent India was celebrated throughout the Valley on 7th July, 2017 with traditional enthusiasm and followed by planting of saplings and a colourful cultural programme.
At DVC HQ. , Shri Andrew WK Langstieh, IA & AS, Chairman hoisted the DVC flag. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Langstieh conveyed his thanks to the employees for their sincerity and dedication for the cause of DVC. He further stated that DVC has been growing from strength to strength for the last three years and shared this credit for steady improvement with his teammates. Total generation of DVC in the first quarter of 2017 has increased to 9384 MU in comparison to 8709 MU in the same period of last year thereby indicating an increase of 7.75% . On this occasion Mejia Thermal Power Station (MTPS) has been awarded the best generating station of DVC for 2016-17.
