MECL entered into Tripartite Agreement with Govt. of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh
NAGPUR: MECL has inked Tripartite Agreement with the State Government of Uttar Pradesh on 27.12.2017 & Bihar on 01.01.2018 with NMET on the third end for exploring various mineral blocks in both the states.
The Agreement with Govt. of U.P. was signed at Lucknow by Shri Yogesh Sharma, GM (Business Development & Exploration) on behalf of MECL; Shri R.P. Singh, Add. Chief Secretary (U.P. Govt.) and Shri A.K. Gupta, DDG, Geological Survey of India (on behalf of NMET); in the presence of Shri Atmaram, Jt. Secretary (U.P. Govt.). The Agreement with Govt. of Bihar was signed at New Delhi by Shri Yogesh Sharma (MECL), Shri A.K. Gupta (NMET) and Shri K.K. Pathak, IAS (Principal Secretary, Mines & Geology), Govt. of Bihar. Till now, MECL has signed such Agreements with the states of Maharashtra, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu for exploring mineral blocks. Owing to the amended M.M.D.R. Act, 2015; more and more transparency is being imposed in the auctioning process of mineral blocks in the country and State Governments have been asked to explore the mineral blocks in their respective states; National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) to finance the exploration activities and MECL was declared one of the Nodal Agencies. MECL contemplates entering into such Agreements with other states for providing more auctionable mineral blocks in respect to states.
