MECON bags Excellence award - 2015
RANCHI. MECON LIMITED has awarded the Aqua Foundation’s Excellence Award 2015 under the category of outstanding contribution towards cause of sustainability – public sector. This award was presented by Honourable Minister of Water Resources, Govt. of India, Smt. Uma Bharti during the glittering award function held at Indian Habitat Center, New Delhi on 26th November, 2015 during 9th World Aqua Congress International Conference for MECON’s steller contribution in setting up 100 mld desalination plant at Nemmeli for the people of Chennai. The detailed project report and the complete basic design & detailed engineering for the desalination plant was prepared and submitted by MECON to Govt. of Tamilnadu.
The award was presented to MECON for the work of setting up of a 100 million litres per day sea water Reverse Osmosis Desalination Plant (from concept to commissioning) at Nemmeli,Chennai, Tamilnadu to produce potable water for Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. This project has brought great relief for residents of South Chennai city as they are receiving the potable water from this plant.
