NLC IL Carries out Clean India Activities in Peripheral Villages
NLC India Limited, Neyveli started a Week Long Clean India Activities under the national mission of Swachh Bharat, on 27.03.2017 at B-2 Block & A Block Settlement area, peripheral villages of Neyveli Township.
Mr. S. Mohan, CGM/CSR & Sports, initialized a Week-long Clean India Activity, commenced at B-2 Settlement area & A Block Rehabilitation Centre. In his address, he stressed the importance of each and every one should take vow to clean an area for 2 hours per week and ensure their cleaning works done by them reached 100 Hours per annum; thereby, our national mission on Swachh Bharat would be fulfilled.
NLC India Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility undertaking several works, which includes Clean India, Education, Health Awareness, etc., whereby the people and place at peripheral villages are getting benefit out of it. In continuation of the mission, NLC India, organizing ‘Clean India’ activities in various places. As part of the week-long programme, Mass Cleaning works were carried out, in co-ordination with Neyveli Blood Donors Association (NBDA) at B-2 Settlement area and with All India Blood Donors Association at A-Block Rehabilitation Centre. Besides, village cleaning activities, where village people participated in mass numbering around 500, the Awareness Programme among the village streets were also performed, which includes, airing of slogans, carrying placards, issuing of pamphlets to all the houses, street plays by highlighting the personal hygienic, etc.
This programme is part of the ‘Swachh Bharat’ activity at “Water Bodies” areas, where, the concentrations were made to remove the plastic and debris, dried leaves etc, besides awareness programme carried out, such as distribution of handbills, rally by carrying placards, etc. In both the programmes, villagers were participated in large. Mr. J. Peter James, GM/CSR of NLC India Limited, co-ordinated the programme, along with the other CSR Officials. The general public of the village applauded the attentiveness shown by the NLC India Limited for the welfare of the village inhabitants, as a whole.
