NLCIL observes Cleanliness Fortnight at Maruthur Village and the Silver Beach inSamiyarpettai Village
Maruthur: NLCIL , organized Cleaning Drive(16.08.2017-31.08.2017) yesterday (24.08.2017) at Maruthur Village during forenoon and at the Silver Beach in Samiyarpettai Village involving the Women in Public Sector (WIPS), the People Service Group (PSG) and the public through workshops for the Self Help Groups (SHGs) to train the public on sanitation and an Awareness Campaign to maintain cleanliness in the Beaches .
Maruthur Village:Event began with an address by the Chief Medical Officer of General Hospital, NLCIL Dr.N.Nalini on maintaining theenvironment clean, at the temple premises of saint vallalar. She interacted with the members of the SHGs on related issues.The team PSG enacted a skit on cleanliness, the public joined with folk songs on nature.Shri A.Manoharan, Administrator of the village joined the occasion.Smt.N.Kalaiarasi,Secretary,Smt.K.Dhanam,Treasurer of WIPS joined the members of the CSR team of NLCIL Shri A. Ezhumalai,EE(Civil) and Shri B.Balachandar,AEE(Mech) in presenting toiletries to around 150 participants.
Silver Beach at Samiyarpettai:Around 400 members of the public went around the streets of Samiyarpettai village in a rally creating an awareness on cleanliness. PSG volunteers and the public cleared weeds and cleaned an area of the beach and pathway road. CSR officials of NLCIL participated in the activity.
