SAIL Director Personnel visits Vizag Steel Plant
Visakhapatnam: RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant organized 'STEEL HR FORUM' Meet, a Knowledge Sharing Talk in Ukkunagaram today on the occasion of the visit of Sri Atul Srivastava, Director (Personnel), SAIL and his team of senior HR.
Sri K C Das, Director(Personnel), RINL, while welcoming Sri Atul Srivastava and his team and thanking them for sharing their experiences, said this sort of sharing would facilitate both RINL and SAIL in bringing out various changes in HR & HRD systems.
Sri Atul Srivastava, Director (Personnel) SAIL in his address to the HR fraternity of RINL outlined both past and current Steel industry scenario and the challenges being faced by the Steel Industry, particularly the steel PSUs viz SAIL and RINL. He emphasized that the need of the hour is manpower reduction and appropriate cost strategies so that the organization can be better placed. He also spoke about the various key HR initiatives of SAIL in the areas of Acquisition, Incentives & Rewards, Recruitment, Organisation structures, Manpower Reduction Strategies through VRS &Redeployment and Promotion and Appraisal system and Assessment Development Centre Concepts.
Later, Sri Srivastava visited the Steel Plant. In the second half, detailed discussions on various HR issues of mutual interest were held. Sri Amitabh Bhattacharya, ED, (P&A), RMD & CMO, Sri Pawan Kumar, DGM(Pers), Sri Prashant Ojha, AGM(Pers-CMO), from SAIL and Sri Debasish Ray, ED(Per & IR), Sri R V Rao, GM(HR) from RINL participated in the discussions.
