INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT DVC
Kolkata: The 71st Independence Day was celebrated in all formations of DVC with much enthusiasm and pride. Shri A.W.K Langstieh, IA & AS Chairman DVC unfurled the National Flag at DVC HQs., Kolkata and was given guard of Honor by CISF contingent.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Langstieh said that DVC was born around the same time when India got independence. DVC was established in the year 1948, has a symbiotic relationship with the growth of the nation. DVC as a major power utility is playing significant role in the nation building.
He informed that the performance of DVC was improving with every quarter and the Corporation has shown exemplary performance in the Q1 of 2017-18 with a generation of 9382 Million Units compared to 8709 Million Units in Q1 of 2016-17 showing an increase of 7.27 %.
On this occasion, the Chairman gave away the best workman award for the month of July 2017 to Shri Basudev Midya, a casual worker at DVC HQs, Kolkata.
