IndianOil Skills 600 youths in Delhi-NCT under CSR
New Delhi: IndianOil’s Refineries Headquarters has undertaken a major drive to train 600 youths from Delhi-NCT region in various training courses to support the national campaign of Skill India. Partnering with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to carry out these skill training programmes, the beneficiaries have been drawn mainly from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, placing a special emphasis on skilling girl students. Similar progressive skilling schemes for youth have been rolled out in all 9 refineries of IndianOil located in the states of east and northeast, north and west of India, benefitting about 2500 youths.
Mr. V K Shukla, Executive Director (HR), IOC, while inaugurating the first batch of Sewing Machine Operator under Apparel sector & Customer Care Executive on the eve of Independence Day, exhorted the participants to utilise the opportunity to develop a skill within oneself, which will stand them in good stead in any circumstances, helping them to support their families. Ms. Anita Shrivastava, General Manager (CC & CSR), IOC, specifically exhorted the female participants to work towards attaining financial independence.
As part of the sustainable project, the candidates who clear the courses successfully shall be provided with job placements. The other training courses, which have been rolled are on trades like General House Keeping, Unarmed Security Guard, Emergency Medical Technician, Vision Technician, and Retail Sales Associate with different training partners in Delhi-NCT.
