NLC India Limited bats for special children
Singrauli: As part of observation of National Day for physically and intellectually challenged, the Cuddalore District Education Department had conducted a Sports Event for Special Children.
NLCIL, in right earnestness came forward to host an event at Bharathi Stadium, Neyveli. The same was conducted on 12-12-2019.
Shri R. Vikraman, Director/HR, NLCIL speaking on the occasion, he expressed his happiness over the privilege conferred upon NLCIL in conducting the event for Special Children. He was confident that such events would speed up mingling our Special children in main stream of life. Smt. Rose Nirmala, Chief Education Officer, Cuddalore inaugurated the event in the morning.
Around 320 differently abled children participated in various categories of sports and events enthusiastically. Athletic events such as, sprint for 100 metres and 50 metres, Standing Long jump, soft ball throw, Tennis ball throw, Wheel chair race and Bocce were conducted.
Shri R.Vikraman, Director/HR/NLCIL participated in the prize distribution function and distributed the prizes to the winners.
It was heartening to note that this event served as a confidence building measures among the Differently Abled children in the various categories such as cerebral palsy, intellectually disability, orthopedic impairment, low vision, total blindness, hearing disability and multiple disabilities.
