NMDC Vigilance Awareness Week Programmes
Hyderabad: NMDC Limited is observing Vigilance Awareness Week at Corporate Office, Hyderabad and its various projects and units across the country from 30th October to 04th November 2017 to create awareness among employees and stakeholders towards vigilance practices and to bring more transparency in functions and activities of NMDC.
Various programmes such as Elocution, Quiz, Lectures, Vendors meet etc., were conducted wherein employees and stakeholders of NMDC participated enthusiastically.
A Quiz Programme on Vigilance related matters and general knowledge, was organized for the employees of NMDC Corporate office and R&D Centre on 31.10.2017. A Vendor Cum Contractors’ meet was conducted on 01.11.2017 wherein around 60 parties across the country have attended for interaction with NMDC officials on matters pertaining to tender and contractual terms in the presence of Dr. T.R.K.Rao, Director (Commercial) and Shri K.Vidyasagar, Chief Vigilance Officer.
The CVO encouraged the vendors to express their grievances freely and also offer their suggestions, if any, for improvement in the existing system and utilise the opportunity for interaction with NMDC officials effectively.
Dr.T.R.K. Rao, Director (Commercial) administered Integrity Pledge to all participants and exhorted the vendors & contractors to utilise this platform effectively and express their views on issues arising out of tender and contractual terms for making the procurement process more effective and transparent. He also reminded that bribe-giving as well as taking is a punishable offence. Director (Commercial) informed all officers that they should be aware of the provisions in the upcoming Public Procurement policy and stressed the importance of registration in the GEM portal.
The vendors and contractors have actively participated in the meet and their queries were addressed by the senior officers from the projects as well as the corporate office.
Apart from the above, a vigilance talk on “Moral & Ethics in Governance” was delivered by Shri K.R. Nandan, IPS (Retd), Vigilance Commissioner, Telangana State today. The function was graced by Shri P.K.Satpathy, Director(Prodn), Shri D.S.Ahluwalia, Director(Fin),
Shri Sandeep Tula, Director(Pers.) and Shri K.Vidyasagar, Chief Vigilance Officer. The Chief Guest, Shri K.R. Nandan spoke on human values such as right conduct, right thought, right word and right deed with Sankalpam, ie, the right thought having the primary role on the human conduct. The individual should have a balance between family values versus citizen values and should invoke “Lajja Kavach” to prevent indulging in corrupt practices.
