NTPC Celebrates Coal Mining Day

New Delhi: NTPC celebrates Coal Mining Day to mark the occasion of extraction of first coal from NTPC’s Pakri-Barwadih mine on 7th, December 2016.
As a part of this celebration, a cultural programme was organized at Saraswati Auditorium, PMI, NOIDA on 8th. December 2019.
 
CMD, NTPC, Shri Gurdeep Singh inaugurated the programme in presence of President, Sanyukta Mahila Sangh, Smt. Kiran Singh; Director(HR), Shri Saptarshi Roy; Director(Commercial & Projects), Shri AK Gupta; Smt. Shobha Gupta; Director(Operations), Shri Prakash Tiwary; Director(Finance), Shri AK Gautam; Head of Mining, Shri Sariputta Mishra, Shri Partha Mazumdar, ED (Coal Mining) and other dignitaries.
 
CMD, NTPC and Director(Commercial & Projects) congratulated the employees and family members of Coal Mining team on the occasion of Coal Mining Day and appreciated their effort in taking forward the coal mining business of NTPC.
 
Sh. Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC mentioned that coal from Pakri-Barwadih mine has helped NTPC’s power stations to bring down the cost of generation and has become the ‘Most Wanted’. He advised team Coal Mining to scout for adopting global best practices for safe and environment-friendly mining with better productivity. He also praised the Coal Mining team for its performance so far. In his address, he said that NTPC Mining Ltd., the newly-incorporated wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, would start functioning after the asset transfer issues are resolved. Bringing in of more efficiency & focussed approach in the coal mining business, through this subsidiary, are aimed at.
 
During this function, CMD, NTPC also inaugurated the Shared Document Access in the PRADIP platform for Coal Mining Group. All relevant documents like Geological Reports, approved Mining Plans, Statutory Clearances, Land Acquisition Notifications, etc., have been stored mine-wise and can be accessed from anywhere with protected log-in id & password.
 
Director(Commercial & Projects), Sh. AK Gupta, during his address, lauded the performance of Team Coal Mining amidst all odds, and also encouraged the entire team to achieve the enhanced coal production targets with ZERO accident. He also briefed about the future roadmap of coal mining and adoption of global best practices in mines & heavy machinery.
 
On this occasion, in-house participants i.e. children & spouses from various NTPC Coal Mining projects and offices showcased their splendid dancing & singing performances.
