NTPC Organise Skill Development Program for Outsourced Workers
New Delhi: 'Skill Development Program for Outsourced Workers' was inaugurated through Video Conferencing on 30th July 2018 by Shri Saptarshi Roy, Director (HR), NTPC Limited. This novel initiative has been initiated by WR1HQ, Mumbai for Moudaand Solapur with a view to enhancing technical skills of contractors’ workers in association with Power Sector Skill Council, New Delhi. The program incorporates structured classroom & hands-on training program of 200 hours and has been launched for technical streams viz. Ash Handling at Solapur and Coal Handling at Mouda.
Under this training initiative, 30 workers shall be trained at both the sites and certificate shall be given to successful participants based on their assessment at the end of the course. This initiative will not only help to enhance the skills of outsourced workers but also develop their employability in the future.
Further training programs in the field of technical helper (Mechanical & Electrical) for 350 hours is being organized for 30 participants each from Mouda & Solapur. Shri Harbans Singh, RED, WR-I&II, Shri A N Verma, ED (HR), HOPs of Mouda & Solapur, Shri Vinod Bihari, CEO and other senior officials from Power Sector Skill Council, and Senior officials from CC HR, Projects and WR-I&II were present on this occasion.
