NTPC SCCL Railway ink pact on coal supply
Hyderabad: In a first-of-its-kind agreement in the country, the NTPC, Singareni Collieries (SCCL) and the Railways reached a tripartite pact here on June 10 on the supply of 35 lakh more tonnes of coal through the merry-go-round railway line at Ramagundam in Karimnagar district. It follows the SCR and the NTPC agreeing to provide rakes, as suggested by the SCCL. The agreement came into immediate effect.
Representatives of the three organisations initiated the agreement in the presence of SCR General Manager Ravindra Gupta at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad, a press release issued by the SCCL said. It stated that the pact was the first such to be signed on the merry-go-round transportation of coal from SCCL to the NTPC thermal plant.
