The Education Department of NLCIL organized the ‘Teachers’ Day’ 2017 celebrations at Neyveli Lignite Hall yesterday (05.09.2017) evening.  Shri V.Thangapandian, Director (Power) & Chief Guest, Shri R.Vikraman, Director (HR) & the president of the function paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dr.S.Radhakrishnan and lit the traditional lamp to inaugurate the function.

The Birth Day (05.09.1888) of the former President of India Dr. Radhakrishnan is celebrated every year as Teachers’ Day for honoring them for their contributions in various fields for the progress of students.

Shri Thangapandian, in his address said that in today’s modern world students become prone to frequent fluctuations in mood, self-control and under stress due to lacking of right attitude and composed mindset. Earlier,  children  unknowingly learnt  tolerance, adjustment  to the situation  because  of  Joint  family system , but  in today’s  nuclear family systems  they are unable to  cope up with situations which are not favorable to them.

Shri R.Vikraman, in his address said that,  “Guru”  the  teacher , means  who literally carries the students  on the journey of evolution  and shows his  true self and helps  to   elevate himself.   He said “Am thankful to my teachers for the opportunity to invite and honor them as alumni of NLCIL School.  Shri N.Muthu, ED (HR) felicitated the occasion.

20 Teachers of the Schools in Neyveli were honored with the NLCIL Best Teacher Award, 41 Teachers were complimented for cent percent result in class X public examinations, and in class XII 53 Teachers received the prizes. Among the Girl Toppers in 6 streams of 10th & 12th CBSE, State Board (English & Tamil), 18 students received the prizes.

Shri R .Mohan, CGM (Education, SDC & CSR) welcomed the gathering and   Shri I .Nedumaran, DGM (Education) and Secretary, NLCIL Schools proposed vote of thanks. Senior officials of NLCIL, Heads of Educational Institutions, Teachers, Students, and Parents participated in the function.
