Krishnapatnam Railway Company Ltd. Invites Applications for Managing Director

NEW DELHI:  The Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has issued a global vacancy circular for the appointment of the Managing Director (MD) for Krishnapatnam Railway Company Limited (KRCL). KRCL is a high-profile Joint Venture involving Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), Adani Krishnapatnam Port, NMDC, and the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The Railway Board, via communication No. 2025/E(O)II/39/25, has directed all General Managers and DGs of Indian Railway zones and production units to nominate eligible volunteers for this leadership role.

 

Job Profile & Responsibilities

The Managing Director serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KRCL, reporting directly to the Board of Directors and shareholders.

• Strategic Leadership: Responsible for the efficient functioning of the company and achieving corporate performance parameters.

• Coordination: The role requires high-level coordination between multiple stakeholders, including private port operators and government bodies.

• Operational Excellence: Focus on problem-solving, innovation, and delivering customer-focused results at optimal costs.

 

Eligibility Criteria & Experience

The search is focused on veteran railway professionals who possess a deep understanding of large-scale infrastructure and logistics.

• Experience: Minimum 25 years of experience in Railways, with at least 5 years in Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) or above.

• Education: Graduate in any discipline.

• Age Limit: Maximum 60 years as on the date of the vacancy notice (December 16, 2025).

• Tenure: The appointment is for 3 years, extendable by another 2 years, subject to a maximum age limit of 65 years. Note: Appointment will not be on a deputation basis.

Remuneration & Benefits

The pay structure is aligned with top-tier Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs):

• Scale of Pay: Director of Schedule-'A' Company (CPSE).

• Perks: Benefits as decided by the KRCL Board.

• Post-60 Provision: For candidates serving beyond 60 years, the pay will be in the Schedule-'A' scale minus any pension drawn.
