BEML Honoured with Double Gold for Vande Bharat Sleeper & Electric Rope Shovel

The Gold Award for Future-Ready Infrastructure was conferred upon BEML for its pathbreaking work on the Vande Bharat Sleeper Trainset—India’s first indigenously developed semi-high-speed sleeper train. Capable of reaching speeds up to 180 kmph, this next-generation trainset represents a monumental leap in India’s rail infrastructure and a major milestone in the journey towards AatmaNirbhar Bharat. Designed and manufactured by BEML, the trainset combines cutting-edge technology with passenger comfort, enabling operations at speeds of up to 180 kmph. The company also received the Gold Award for Operational Excellence for the successful development of the BRS21 Electric Rope Shovel—India’s first fully indigenized, all-electric rope shovel. This achievement sets new benchmarks in sustainable and energy-efficient mining equipment, reinforcing BEML’s leadership in advanced Make-in-India solutions for the core sector. Designed for high-performance excavation in large-scale mining operations, it offers enhanced energy efficiency, reduced carbon footprint, and lower operating costs.
