GRSE Bags BCC&I Social Leadership Award 2025 for Transformative CSR Initiative
GRSE receives the BCC&I Social Leadership Award 2025 for its CSR initiative “Akanksha – Aiming High,” promoting holistic development of underprivileged children in Kolkata.
Kolkata, December 22, 2025: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has won the BCC&I Social Leadership Award 2025 in the Healthcare & Empowerment – Holistic Development category. The award was conferred at the Fourth CSR Conclave & Social Leadership Awards 2025, organised by The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I).
The award was presented to Shri Rajeev Shrivastava, General Manager (HR&A), GRSE, by Dr Bhaskar Chatterjee, widely regarded as the Father of Indian CSR and Sustainability, at a ceremony held at Taj City Centre, Kolkata, on December 19, 2025.
The recognition honours GRSE’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, “Akanksha – Aiming High”, which focuses on the holistic development of underprivileged children in Khidderpore, Kolkata. Implemented in partnership with CRY – Child Rights and You, the programme delivers sustained impact across education, health and nutrition, psychosocial well-being, life skills and community empowerment.
The BCC&I Social Leadership Awards acknowledge organisations that demonstrate outstanding leadership in inclusive growth and sustainable social development. GRSE’s CSR initiatives reflect strong governance, statutory compliance and a long-term commitment to addressing social challenges in urban communities.
